Fennel - Culinary Herb

Native to the Mediterranean region, and used since ancient times, Fennel is widely used both as a culinary herb and vegetable, and for its medicinal properties.

The flavour is similar to anise and all parts of the plant can be used - the bulb, feathery leaves and seeds can all be incorporated in many dishes. 

Left to flower the plants attract pollinators galore and seeds are easily harvested when dry. As a perennial it will keep coming again season after season.
