Shishito Pepper

Derived from a Poblano, this Japanese heirloom produces prolific numbers of chillies on a plant, each one up to 10cm long. 

Usually eaten green these delightfully wrinkly peppers have a mild flavour and spice, although it is noted one in ten will be a bit spicier!  Blistering or cooking the chillies brings out a touch more spice and a smokey flavour.
