Vanilla Passionfruit (aka Red Banana Passionfruit)

A native from the cloud forests of Colombia, this vine grows quickly and produces the most amazing flowers followed by banana shaped fruits.  Despite the name these fruits taste and smell nothing like vanilla, but have a more tropical sweet taste, reminiscent of mango. Less acidic than the stock standard purple passionfruit.

A lovely passionfruit to have in your fruit garden.

Easily grown in warm areas - we found the flowers pollinated readily enough on their own but sometimes a little help might be needed.
